Cerebrolysin

Also known as FPF-1070

A brain-derived peptide complex used for recovery after brain injury and for cognition.

How it's taken

Availability varies by supplier — injectable is the most commonly researched form.

Dose on a U-100 syringe

This dose is too large to draw in one standard U-100 insulin syringe at common mixes. It is typically drawn from a larger vial, mixed at a higher concentration, or split into more than one injection. Run your own vial through the reconstitution calculator.

What it does

Cerebrolysin is a mixture of small neuropeptides and growth-factor fragments rather than a single peptide. It is used after concussion or stroke, in memory decline, and by people chasing clearer thinking. Reported effects are better recall, less brain fog, and improved recovery of function after injury.

Mechanism

Supplies fragments with NGF-, BDNF- and CNTF-like activity that support neuron survival, axon growth, and synaptic plasticity.

Storage — lyophilisedwhat's this?

Refrigerate; do not freeze. Sealed ampoules keep for years.

Storage — reconstitutedwhat's this?

Use the day it is drawn; keep refrigerated.

Reconstitution noteswhat's this?

Supplied as a liquid ampoule or a powder. If mixing a powder preparation, use 8 mL of bacteriostatic water and dose 100 units (8 mg) at a time: week 1 once daily, week 2 twice daily, weeks 3-4 three times daily. Subcutaneous or intramuscular.

Stacks well with

Popular combinations reported in the community and research literature — not a recommendation. Adding peptides multiplies side-effect risk; check with a clinician.

Commonly reported side effects

  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Sweating
  • Agitation

Contraindications noted

  • Severe kidney failure
  • History of status epilepticus
  • Allergy to Cerebrolysin or sodium hydroxide
  • High-dose MAO inhibitors without medical guidance

Research notes

Approved in several countries outside the US for stroke and dementia, with mixed but generally positive trial results.
