What it does

An investigational "triple agonist" that hits three metabolic receptors at once — GLP-1, GIP and glucagon. The glucagon arm also raises energy burn, not just lowers appetite. What people look into it for: • The largest average weight loss reported in this drug class so far in trials • Strong appetite suppression and reduced food cravings • Blood-sugar control and reduced liver fat It is still in clinical trials and is not approved anywhere, so long-term safety is not established.

Mechanism

Triple agonism adds glucagon-receptor-driven energy expenditure to incretin effects.
