What it does
A long-acting copy of amylin, a hormone your pancreas releases with insulin to tell your brain you have eaten enough. It slows how fast the stomach empties, so meals feel filling for longer. What people look into it for: • Real reduction in hunger and food noise • Steady weight loss, especially when paired with a GLP-1 like semaglutide • Smaller portions feeling satisfying • Fewer cravings between meals It is still an investigational drug and is most studied as part of a combination.
Mechanism
Amylin receptor agonist promoting satiety and slowed gastric emptying.
